Just opened my Conway Clipper for a quick check and there is mildew on the canvas and condensation under the cover,aaaarrrrgggghhhh---I've dried canvas as much as I can with a towel,covered it with dry tarp with a sleeping bag and put in a dehumidifier,its snowing here,do I put it up tomoz? Is all lost?,julie x
I've had the same problem, opened up my crusader last weekend and little spots of mildew and a lot of condensation on the underside of the travel cover. Like you wiped with a towel and it's gone but don't want it back. Didn't have a water trap inside so ordered and stuck inside on Wednesday, when I did that yet again condensation had been accumulating. Still has the newness smell and otherwise bone dry. We've got snow too but I would suggest (others might suggest otherwise) that you keep it closed for now till we haven't got the damp cold air, read on another post not to open when cold air about as it will draw it in! All is not lost (I believe) but nice to know I'm not the only one with the same problem.
While I remember did you have the water trap inside before over the winter or have you only just put one in? I bought the Kampa Damp Buster from 'greasychippys' recommendation.
Will keep an eye on your post for others ideas. Hope you manage to sort it all out.
Worried about mine and cant wait till weather better to have a look at her. I have put a tarp under my main thick pvc cover then the cover then another tarp tied on top. Hope this has helped it. We will see!!!

I had a very bad infestation three years ago ... finally cleared it with some stuff from the US ... Sudbury canvas mildew and stain remover ... worked brilliantly.
Others swear by Milton, and other by a weak solution of soap and water ... I'd start with the dilute version of fairy liquid, and work up the scale if it doesn't do the trick.
As it is still wet,you will need to open it up as soon as you can,and keep airing it until you finally get a nice day to dry it. Moisture traps don't work,yes they trap a bit of moisture ,but from the air and it is quickly replaced. The average trap can only lower the humidity to 75% anyway,still to damp to allow canvas to dry. Have to disagree about detergents ,and this includes household bleaches (which have a small amount of detergent in). They will destroy any wateproofing and make it almost impossible to reproof. Pure soap is fine but still needs a very good rinse. Milton is good,it's just pure bleach,salt and water. The Isabella website has a section on canvas care,as does the tencate one. Once dry,the absolute best way to kill mildew is 6 weeks under the Med sun!

Soap flakes have been recommended rather than washing-up liquid, which I understand is (or contains) a detergent.
Or you could use a specialist product like Nikwax Tech Wash (Have a go at their quiz!)
Yes, you're probably right ... though I have used a VERY dilute solution of fairy liquid in warm water ... and successfully removed mildew spotting from a marquee ...
The Sudbury I used was excellent ...
I also used an Isabella canvas cleaner to remove a lot of green colouration from being under a tree ... I used Isabella re-proofing after that.
Three years ago .... no further action ... no problems ...
If the canvas is good ... it usually does the job for you.
But, I'm more than ready to listen too others' experiences.
Worst comes to the worst,at least the clipper canvas is pretty well generic conway,so TVS would be able to sort you one out. They have the occasional Cabanon canvas which would make your tt look like new.

Pretty easy on a Conway though,as long as you have the ties in bows,some others,like mine, are a bit awkward.
