29th December 2006 – 2nd January 2007, The Trotting Mare Caravan Park, Overton, Wrexham
Hands up everyone who wants to come and join us at a UKCS meet to celebrate the end of 2006 and the beginning of 2007.
We return to this delightful site in a rural setting for a New Years Meet. The Trotting Mare Caravan Park is located just behind the pub of the same name. The site has all the facilities that you would expect including toilets and showers and fishing is available in the well stocked pond on the site.
The pub located in front of the site has a good restaurant serving some great meals, so feel free to eat out and sample the delights whilst on site.
The New Years Eve party will be held in the pub and and the cost is £15.00 per person, this includes entrance fee, finger buffet and disco. Opening of doors 6.30pm to 7pm until 2am.
Tents, caravans, motorhomes and all units welcome!
The price for this meet is just £10 per unit per night with or without electric. These prices are inclusive of all members of your party, awnings and pets. Additional nights, subject to availability, will be charged at the same rate.
Spaces are limited for this meet and we are expecting them to fill up very quickly, so please register your interest for a great chance to meet some new friends or catch up with some old ones.

Caz, can't make the meet, unfortunately ... not unless you've arranged for Show of Hands to do the cabaret? In which case, all other plans are cancelled.
Did you know that they're gigging in Ludlow and Worcester next month?
Saw Ludlow and Worcester but unfortunately am already booked to go away both those weekends, in opposite direction! Missed Trowbridge Festival and am getting withdrawal symptoms so may have to change something. Meanwhile the DVD and CDs help, and I have them as my wallpaper. Blue Cockade playing as I type.

Neither have we, Trish. Sounds fun - any of you old hands have any insight as to what happens on these events? Are they desperately jolly or depressingly clique-y? Would a pair of almost-virgin folding campers of a retiring disposition feel isolated? And Caz: from your avatar, surely you should be playing 'Long Dog' - that is a lurcher next to you, isn't it?
Longdog, no, 'fraid he's a collie x lab, but everyone makes that mistake! I am sure you wouldn't feel isolated if you joined us.
At the meets we always have a jolly time and everyone is friendly, we all mix in together regardless of age, gender, marital status, sexual preferences, race, creed etc. (No that doesn't mean we are swingers!) BUT if folk prefer to keep themselves to themselves then we don't mind. Usually we tend to do our own thing during the day and then get together in the evenings. Obviously this won't be as easy in the winter but we will do our best; I have a large awning and the advantage of this site is the Pub which is nice and cosy on cold evenings. Of course we have the New Years Eve party to look forward to as well.
Trish, I have 2 teens as well so yours wouldn't be on their own, generation-wise.
There are a lot of hard standing pitches, although grass is available if preferred, so now worries about getting muddy or stuck in a rut if it is wet. The EHUs are 16 amp so heaters are no problem.
Hope you can join us!
