Was just wandering if there was anything planned this year in my neck of the woods (Canterbury, Kent). Am finding it increasingly difficult to get my OH to come camping, (he really doesn't share the same passion I do). So thought maybe it's time to try a rally, something I've never done before.
Doesn't look like it Janie but if you're prepared to travel there are some nice meets. I'm coming from Yorkshire to Gloucester for the Hopley Gang meet and am in no doubt the trip will be worth it

Then it's time you tried it Janie. My advice would be to pick a small meet first rather than a huge one. Over the past year or so I've been to a few and every firtst-timer I've spoken to at these meets has enjoyed the experience and been made to feel welcome.
If you cannot find anything close to hand, do as 9iron suggests and look further afield. For instance, the Hopleys Gang is planning meets soon in Gloucestershire and on the Isle of Wight.
Good luck and maybe see you on a campsite somewhere.
Yep I guess you're both right - will have to venture further a field (excuse the pun)! I'm very good at getting lost though and might just end up somewhere I shouldn't!!
So how do you fancy a trip up north. You could do a lot worse than join up with the Semi-Hopleys - Yorkshire Ridings meet. There'll only be 10 or 12 max and I'm sure you'd enjoy it. As for being too old, you haven't checked out the average age of us lot LOL.
At some point this summer I must get down to both Kent and Sussex as part of my Counties Challenge so I suppose we could organise a a mini-meet (or a micro-meet) darn sarf. I know there is beautiful countryside in the Weald (Kent) and in Ashdown Forest (Sussex).
Keep your eyes peeled Janie - I may start a new thread!

(I feel a bit too old to be a first-timer :-D )
