Just in case anyone if thinking of buying one of these tents, make sure you check our pages first, as we've got some great discounts on them for UKCS visitors - see below. Pretty confident you won't find them cheaper elsewhere
Must admit I quite like the VRX Scenic 5.0i - looks like the designers have thought of almost everything we'd want in a tent. It's not "pretty" in terms of stylish looks but that's often the case with things that have a lot of functional design features, indicating the designers have prioritised function & features over form. It could almost be a designer's "working prototype" where it has all the features before he's had a chance to work out aesthetics. Indeed if I was designing a tent to incorporate all the features we'd want, I'd probably have come up with something looking not unlike that. Now if it was cotton canvas and if the frame used the Khyam Rapidex system..........
Mind you, at the price the smallest VRX330S looks excellent for the money, an interesting design.
i really like the VRX5.0i ,i think it might be just the job as a second tent, for when just me and my daughters go camping.looks easy enough to put up with just the three poles.............note to self.........make hubbies favorite for tea tonight!
Went to buy a Montana 4 and then saw the VRX5.0i. We thought it to be a much better thought out tent and at the price we can get them through here a good £60 less than the Montana. Think we will go for it unless anyone has any warnings. Rob
Ordered a VRX5.0i late on Thursday night and it arrived just after 11 this morning (Monday), excellent service. Hope to give it a try over the weekend at a site not too far away. This months camping magazine tested it and liked it, but complained about the instructions (on reading them they may be right). They did have trouble with the the elastics for conecting the inner to the outer not being sown very well and many coming adrift (will not be happy if I have that problem). In the review they refered to it as a Outwell Revolution that should make both companies happy! Will let you know how we get on.
Took the VRX5.0i away in the week for a night to try it out. Went to St Ives Farm in East Sussex. very nice site shame its popular with a lot of low life, dont think I have ever heard the F word used quite so much. Anyway back to the tent, very, very well pleased. It seems huge when putting it up, I dont think it would be possible on your own and I would hate to do it in a wind. However, great design, tons of room and so comfy with lots of features. We choose to have it as one large bedroom and it was huge, great if you have a row you can get lost in it. Ventilation was very good and over all the tent seems to be very well made and great value. The instructions could be better but we did like the way they were sewn into the bag. As with most tents getting it back into the bag was not easy but the tension straps on the bag were a great help. We are very, very pleased and are looking forward to many years of happy times with it. Rob
It is a great tent and i think a very good buy. It comes with instructions which are sewn into a label inside the bag. As with most tents they are not the clearest and it will be a few goes before you get a right. We made a pigs ear of it but was still able to use it comfortably
