Hi Guys.Have a bailey pageant seres 5.The heater was tripping the breaker and now wont heat at all now.Have 220 volts going to a board on the heater.any suggestions.thanks
to arc systems.
Its the space heater ad its a trumatic the model with the battery igniter if thats any help.It was tripping the breaker in the van then breaker became faulty and would not reset for me so I replaced breaker.Since then the heat won't work.Took front cover off but can't see element.I would like to test element with a megger could I do this with the heater installed.thanks.
Thank you, first then the elements are least likely to be at fault, certainly I've never changed one!
Far more likely then is one of the two limit thermostats, these being located in the cover plate over the element connections and visible, (but not accessible), just behind the gas fires flue pipe.
The electric heating control box is behind the fire and you can test the stats here between, 1, the blue and green wires, and 2, the pair of black wires. (not with a mega though!)
What is fairly common is for one of these stats to break up and allow one of it's wires to touch earth so tripping the RCD, or later by moving the van and the wire hang in space with no circuit.
