I know it is a good price at the moment at Blacks online, with an additional ten percent off until midnight tonight, so it works out at £173.64 with carriage.
Now I quite like this tent, for what it is; essentially seems to me like a well ventilated gazebo with two bedroom inners, so should be great for camping in warmer climes.
Don't know if it will be as useful in the UK, as the large front and side panels (which roll up and have zip down mesh-panels) don't actually have a window option, hence the only light coming into the tent on rainy days will be via the two front corner window panels.
That said, it has a HH of 2000mm, so is adequate for UK use and the steel poles look strong enough to make the structure nice and sturdy.
The second bedroom measures only 130cm wide, by the way, and Coleman Comfort airbeds (for example) are 137 wide, which is a bit annoying. I suppose if you don't over-inflate, you might still squeeze one in, but I wonder why they didn't lost a few more cm off the larger inner just to make things easier for their own brand of airbeds?
So, I've rabbited on and not mentioned pitching, which really is the bit I can't comment on! I've mooched around this tent on and off for the past year, deliberated about buying one for use in France but never actually done so. As this is more of a dome, than a tunnel, I wonder someone will have to be inside the tent to help lift the structure, once the poles are threaded? Then again, it might in fact pitch like a tunnel with the additional poles threaded through and then legs added when lifted? (In other words, I don't really know! )
I'm sure that someone who has a Cedar Creek will be along shortly, to give much better info and hopefully let you know how long it takes to pitch, and how easy/difficult it is. If the answer is that it pitches in ten minutes, I'll be tempted to order one myself!
thanks for your reply we are still thinking about it we had a montana 6 last year but found it to heavy because of health probs so we are looking for something lighter did not realise the sides did not have windows
I've got a Coleman Cedar Creek tent and the first time we tried to put it up it took about a hour because we tried to followq the instructions sewn into the carrying bag. After deciding to go with common sense we can now get the main structure up and weather tight in 5 minutes (10 with pegging down and guy ropes) Everything else can then be done from the inside.
I'm over 6 feet tall and it is the first time I've really felt I was in a tent made for me. It feels roomy and spacious and I would highly recommend it.
If I had one complaint it would be that some of the poles are steel and hence makes the whole thing rather heavy, why could they have been aluminiun?

Please tell me how you pitch it so quick. We have a coleman cedar creek and we have it down to about 30 mins. Mind you that was our second time erecting it. The first time took about 3 hours (following sewn in instructions)!! Like you we find the tent great, hubby is 6ft and likes the room. Unfortunately it is rather heavy, I find that I struggle to lift the structure ( but my arms are really weak in any case), hubby doesn't struggle with the tent, but would say that he struggles with me!!! Please share any tips with us!!
Lay out the tent and slide the four colour coded fibreglass poles into the colour coded sleeves on the roof .These then push fit into the top curved ends of the steel poles. The steel poles have spikes at the bottom and these go into eyelets on straps attached to the base, the tent is then attached to the poles with 3 plastic clips.
Hope this makes sense, if you can look at the picture of the tent as well it should be clearer.
tikit thanks for that ours should arrive thursday we managed the montana 6 last year which was very heavy so just hoping this is a little easier for us might be a bit of blue air at first but i say don't knock it till you've tried it
£125, thats a very good price and I thought I'd got a good deal. I ordered from Millets on line as they had had several reductions and I expected to pay about £149 except they couldn't get me one. I nearly cancelled after 8 weeks but found Millets in Cambridge had one but they wanted £249. I contacted Millets online and they said they could collect it and deliver it to me, 150 miles away, the next day and still give me the online price. They were as good as their word and it was delivered at 8:00 the next morning. Now if only I'd thought to ask for my 10% YHA discount!

We went into the store (in Newcastle) for something completely different. I was browsing through the laminated booklet they have with the pictures of tents in and it was advertised in there as being £187.00 but with an extra 30% discount. When it was scanned into the cash register it still came up as £187 but they honoured the 30% discount as it was advertised on the laminate. Hope that makes sense. We did have to return the first one as one of the outer clips was snapped, they replaced it straightaway, they said they had loads in the stock room.
We are hoping to camp in it this weekend, just for one night ( I have never slept in a tent in my life), as a practice run. Looking forward to son enjoying the outdoors.

Vicksies
Here's hoping you have a lovely time, Vicksies, and that this is is just the first of many enjoyable camping trips!
Googled this forum when looking for best price for a Coleman Cedar Creek on friday. Rang many Millets stores in Essex. Eventually I found one both 'in stock' and the £125 price at the Lakeside branch. (It appears as though the Millets stock check procedure is to rummage around whilst holding the phone under the chin!) Anyway, I was delighted to collect the tent that very evening. Next day the tent was erected in the garden. Thanks to 'tikit' and others, the sewn-in instructions were pretty much ignored in favour of the instructions in this thread. No arguing with the wife, no broken or missing parts and saved £80+ on ebay 'buy it now' price.
Thanks for the kind words re setting up and that they helped towards a harmonious experience. You mention the instructions attached to the bag, did yours have a stage 4 as there was only a blank space where it should have been on ours?
Vicksies - did you enjoy your nights under canvas? (oops there's a give away of my age)
We will not be using our Cedar Creek again until the summer when we are going up to the Orkneys but we will be using our Conway Laser for a couple of outings before then.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
