We have a Monty 6 - We have 2 kids and I must say it is more than adequate!
It was also really easy to pitch once you sussed out what you needed to do! (You thread the poles and then pull up tent all at once- like a caterpillar!)
There are 2 sleeping pods at the back that you can either unzip the divider (which we did) to have 1 large sleeping space or you can have 2 separate rooms ( but you can still unzip the divider from either pod to check on the kids (we had it open at night so I could keep eye on kids.. we fitted 2 airbeds in each pod
It has about 8 organiser pockets on the inside of the tent which I found handy for all your bits and pieces and there is loads of space - enough for table and chairs incase you need to sit inside if its raining etc...
There is the main front door and also 2 side doors , one with a small porch - you could just keep this door closed as we did and use for portaloo at night time etc..
It is apparently really good in adverse conditions such as bad winds and is dead stable ( steel poles) - the bag is not too big either compared to some I have seen.
Thanks for info,I really like the Monty but we just cant agree, and its alot to spend on a tent that my wife isn't going to like, There are sooo many to choose from i don't know how anyone can decide!!!
We have a Sunncamp Global 600 - it has 2 pods and a small annexe which can be used for storage or toilet?? there is also a deal which comes with a canopy which is great for all your cooking stuff. the main living area is huge, we bought ours from www.awnings.co.uk
The SunValley 8 was my favourite when we started looking at tents but decided that the Monty would suit us better. The thing that swayed it for me was that I felt that there would be a lot more movement of the SV compared to the Monty as the former has fibreglass poles and the Monty has steel ones if it got windy.
I have to say that I love our Monty and am glad that we chose that over the SV in the end.
I to spent ages trying to choose , but in the end went for the Sun Valley 6 with carpet. I have now used the tent twice and I am very please with it. I definately made the right choice. The thing that swayed it for me was the front canopy and front door. The Montana front door slopes inwards whereas the Sun Valley door is straight. This makes it feel very open and light inside the tent. There is really not much difference between the 2 tents, you need to go and see both on display and decide yourself. I have had alot of tents and to me the Sun Vallwy 6 2008 model is the best tent by a long way.
We have just ordered the Sun Valley 8, it took us a long time and several trips to see them on display to make a decision and that was between the Outwell Vermont L & the SV8, will be putting it up in our garden tomorrow so will let you know, I think what swayed us was the flat front and canopy, although you can buy the canopy for the Montana and it does have some great reviews on here.
Last September we got a new 2007 model SV6 from yeomans for £249 and got free carpet and footprint groundsheet.I thought that was a brilliant deal.I think it was because they re vamped the SV range for 2008 and wanted to get rid of the 2007 stock. We love our SV6,so much living space, headroom and a doddle to put up.
at Neets68,enjoy your new tent.

Wow, that was a bargain I will post new pics of the SV8 when it eventaully arrives, bit of a delay where I ordered it from due to sheer volume of orders and just heard the footprint is out of stock so hoping it will be back in stock tomorrow. Thanks sunvalleysue it was your post that helped make our final decision on the SV8.
