Could anybody help please. Bought one second hand, its only a small tent and thought it would be easy enough. Ha ha, its a heap of poles and doesn't make any sense to me. Maybe because it has a large porch and a side kitchen bit. PamJ

Have to go out at present but if no help is forthcoming later i'll help you out, just to give you an idea, this is the Suncamp Gites 4 frame erected (more like two berth though)
the poles left on the ground are for the canopy, very confusing first time you get the poles out
That could be a big help thanks. There are 2 poles that slide with red bits on, are they porch poles. Trouble is the weather has broken now but will get back to it when it dries up. PamJ
In the top picture there are five poles lying on the ground, the one in the middle with the spring loaded T section is the centre pole for the porch, that one slides
The two either side of it are the two poles that you ask about with the red bits on, these are the porch supports left and right sides, they go between the T section and the two long upright leg poles with the pin on top, once you have the canopy guyed out you use the slider screws to tension it
So, identify and separate those 5 poles and set them aside, likewise the kitchen support poles and the short sections with the plastic hooks on
Once they are out of the way and the rest of the sprung poles are assembled and laid out it's really quite easy, put up the frame with the legs unconnected (on it's knees) fit the canvas and with a partner lift it to it's full height two legs at a time, first one side then the other

One last question then, hopefully. Do you put canvas on main body of frame and then assemble the canopy. Was reading about it somewhere and it said in windy weather take canopy down. It is rolled up and tied to main tent at moment. Pam

Hi there..great instructions! We have just put our sunncamp Gites 5 up after 2 years, and were doing the same thing..looking glumley at piles of poles!
I found sorting them out into piles..those with black feet are the corner poles..white feet I think are the kitchen extention..and the canopy..and now I am confused! However we did get it up. Casters instructions and pictures are very clear.
We always put the canopy up. We put the frame together first, but keep the whole frame on its `knees` drape the canvas over the whole thing and get it into position, including teh canopy : there is a little hole for the middle spike. Then straighten all the sprung legs up to its full height!
Just love our tent! Hope you have many happy years camping in yours.
Ha ha yours is a bit bigger, mines a Gites 3, lucky its only for me and one child max. Got it up today found it quite easy thanks to caster,, great instructions. Think I might go on to a slightly larger one next year, got the confidence now. PamJ
Was going to add a picture but its on about scripted images and wanting web address so I gave up. Will put it in profile instead.

Using the canopy is an either or, you do or you don't, we usually pitch with the back to the wind so we can sit outside rain or shine, we put it up last of all after we've sorted out the kitchen, beds, tables, chairs and other paraphinalia
I would not reccommend using it in high wind and when you roll it up, roll it under rather than over so the rain runs off the roll rather than into the roll, we often roll it up at night as well just in case the wind blows in overnight
Glad you got it up ok, i hope you have many happy outings in it
Pam, I love your little canvas frame tent, We too have one now, along with the big outwell. (The Indy has gone but we loved it's space so have a similar size still)
Have you been out with the baby grandchild yet?? I bet you cant believe how big they are getting already!
Found that water had pooled on the canopy this morning. Might be because I aren't strong enough to pull out porch poles to maximum, will get help with that when I'm away, dry as a bone inside. Canvas convert 100% Pam
