It's very handy.
It means a lot of the small things that you often want access to are hanging up and accessible. Also not on the floor or otherwise in the way.
...right up until I need to pack up. Once I take it off the wall, and lay it down to roll it up things start falling out. By the time I have traveled a bit things have fallen out, and my nice convenient tent tidy has turned into a messy pile of stuff on the floor*.
What I want is a tent tidy that isn't just designed to be hung up, but is designed to be rolled up for travel as well. Something with flaps over the pockets perhaps.
I've considered using a tool roll, but that has the opposite problem - it's not designed to be hung up, and the pockets are the wrong size for jars of coffee and tea mugs and baby wipes etc...
So then, any suggestions as to where I can find a tent tidy that stays tidy during travel?
* =I use a folding camper. The tent tidy will hang up behind the kitchen unit when on site, and be in the large empty void space between the seat boxes when traveling. Which means it has space to decay into it's component parts as the trailer is bouncing about, and that I have to tidy it all up before I can put my tent up and the kettle on.
------------- My opinion is worth exactly what you paid for it.
I keep stuff in soft holdals or rigid plastic boxes for transportation. So you could decant from your boxes into your tent tidy and do the reverse when packing up. Or you could either modify a hanging tent tidy or make one from scratch to your spec which would probably be the best solution of all.

...which is one of the things I am trying to avoid.
I don't want to spend my time on site setting up/striking camp. I want to go there, put the kettle on and relax.
One of the things I like about my FC is that is makes camping so easy. Stick the trailer on the hitch and go away. Get there, open it up and suddenly - *pow* Insta-Camp!
The fun for me isn't about building a home away from home or 'grr, me man, me make furniture from sticks and poo!'. It's about traveling and exploring and wind in my hair and new and interesting places and ...well, I am sure you get the idea.
The camp trailer is a tool to enable that, not a camping exercise in it's own right. I want it as easy to use as possible, because the easier it is to use the more I will use it and the more camping I will get done.

Yeah, I could hack one up and sew flaps and velcro to it. And I am not above entertaining it as an option.
If, however, the correct tool exists on Amazon/ebay and all I need to do to get it is click 'post me one of these please' then I'm happy to just buy it (assuming it isn't too expensive, obviously. Then I probably will make one. But at least I will have pics to use as a design brief!)

oh my goodness....how organised are you?! Think we still act like we are in a tent re storage...we have converted the wardrobe to a cupboard with shelves and everything else goes in sealed curver boxes...drawers look so much better tho! May get me one of those hanging pockets..think I had one years ago and threw it out...! Noever thought of it as a camping item!
Kelper: How much of that do you manage to get in the Pullman and how much in the back of the car?
Been trying to work out how we're going to get everything to France this year what with it being the first time with the FC and also got the Dragon in Law to contend with so 6 people isn't going to leave much room in the car.
The three drawer units go in the car, except for the final pack up when they remain in the camper for storage in France ... the folding larders/cupboards go in the car, the 'Shoe Box' in the car ... the rest in the camper plus a large table (not pictured), and four folding table chairs (not pictured) ... plus the two inflatable boats ...
I removed the cupboard that folds down the centre aisle, where that was is where the two boats, extra fridge and two aquaroll barrels go.
The only people who seem to actually ever have had one are Compact Camping Concepts a web only site trading out of ?USA. A couple of sites link back to them, but nobody else seems to have heard of it.
Drat. Oh well, the hunt continues!

Drat - always I find 'just the thing' either to find that it's American or non-existent. That one is made by Thule, and looking at Thules Uk Website it's not listed, but what is listed is this
which, once again, I can't find to purchase online. It does seem big enough to hold plates, cutlery in the mesh pocket, coffee jar on the side. But it did get me thinking I have one of those hanging type toiletry bags, I recently put it through a wash as I spilt shampoo in it...and mine was a few pounds from Ikea. So basically I'm off to google hanging toiletry bags. I'll let you know if I find anything exciting.
