Just returned from a weekend away very close to a pond with great results with our new Clearlite lamp although lots of midges flying around we were hardly bothered by any whilst sat out till gone 10 pm on a warm friday night.
Also like to say a big thanks to Mike Harrison at clearlite who sent my order back to me by return post in time for us to use them this weekend .
And no I dont work for them just thought I would give a positive review for them as the midge season is definately now upon us.!!

hi dawn ...good arent they and a good looking piece of kit as well nice atmospheric glow in the evening when chilling .Do you use the normal oil or the citronella oil when I asked Mike he said either as it is the mat that does all the work but I bought some citrronella anyway as it was on offer just wondered if you had a preferance.

I just light it, I'm too busy drinking, and now there are no midges about to murder on an evening. Seriously, spent the first night in the van with a wet kitchen towel killing em all, now nothing, not a one. And OH can get on with the business of sorting his arms and legs out - he got eaten alive, now he only gets bitten when he takes the dogs out last thing at night.

Thanks, saw these earlier in the year in the camping and caravaning club mag and was going to order one but had forgot about them, its really good to hear about first hand experience with them, im going to order one now before I forget again.
I've just ordered one of these after getting eaten alive this weekend!! The lil sods bit me everywhere I missed with the avon skin so soft, even my scalp!!
I've just ordered one of these lamps and will be pitting it against the Scottish Midges this summer... that's neem, catnip, avon skin so soft, jungle formula, citronella and a clearlite lamp, plus a hat with the net.. oh, and I'll probably be eating marmite as well.. even though I hate it !!
How long did your lamp take to arrive? Ordered one earlier in the week and can't wait for it to arrive. I am to biting flying insects what the Pied Piper was to rats!
You can get the Citronella oil at any DIY store or shop and quite often at petrol stations, it says that the resevoir that comes with the lamp is refillable although you can buy the replacement resevoirs from their website..
You can also get the oil from B&Q, ours was delivered very quickly. Just remember to save the little bung to put back on when you blow out the lamp. It stops the oil leeching out.
