There seems to be very few sites of any kind listed either on UKCS or the CC Europe 1 for that stretch of canal (probably actually Lateral de la Garonne - but midi is better known)
My ideal would be a small CL type or Municipal within cycling distance of the canal, but anything considered. Thank you.
If I find any I will do a review for here.
I can help if anyone needs sites from Agen towards the med.

From memory I seem to remember a site around Tonneins, but not 100% sure, not that we have stayed on it, but we too looked around that area at one point. You are right, south of Agen there seem to be more sites than north of it.
Sorry not to be of more help, but I would be interested to see if you find anything. We did quite a bit of cycling along the Canal du Midi last September in various places and really enjoyed it.
Certainly it's very good East/South of Agen. Cycled many beautiful miles around there - September is great for fresh fruit and veg too in the markets. Good sites close to the tow paths. I have to think it should be the same towards Bordeaux only the canal peters out where the river Garonne is navigable. River bank should be ok for cycling though?
See Gallery! Well not quite a Captain's hat - but definitely a stripey jumper and perhaps a good substitute in the beret. It's taken a very long time ago - and my onions are to ward off vampires (I got the story wrong!!!).
You see, I had a bike even then - one step up from a penny-farthing!

Certainly is, and something else September is good for is walnuts, we picked loads of them last time everywhere we cycled. Sometimes we didn't cycle that far, but were out most of the day because each time we passed a walnut tree, we just HAD to stop and collect some
Riverbank cycling should be ok I would have thought, we've certainly cycled along some riverbanks in the past.
Last September we also stayed on a site not far from Beziers, and one day cycled all the way to Vias - and back - it was a lovely day and you just feel you can cycle forever, thinking about it now really makes me want to go to France again!
Thanks for that, we too really enjoy the same, cycling along canal banks. I'll have a real good read through that thread. I must have missed that at the time, but thinking about it, we went to Holland on 4 March last year for about 3 weeks, so that's why.
Thanks again for the link, much appreciated.

Tonneins - Municipal Robinson, c/o Office du Tourisme, 05 53 79 02 28 - mentioned in the Alan Rogers guide.
Damazon - Municipal du Lac c/o Mairie, Damazon, 05 53 79 40 15
In the ACSI guide there's also Le Moulin de Mellett - just a little 'north-west' of Agen. Post last edited on 05/03/2009 08:29:38
These are also in the CC Euro1 book Val with ok comments, so thank you for them. I hope we can find some more while in the area to complement the list here and in CC book. Might try googling before we go.
Re your photo - you've obviously gone down market since you sold the plane. Still using the stripey jumper though - that's what I like to hear no sense in throwing away money on new stuff. . Bike's better than mine though.
Oxter - there's another site at Meilhan sur Garonne - Camping Municipal au Jardin (Tel: 05 53 94 30 04 (Mairie) or email communedemeilhan.47 at wanadoo.fr) - which looks to be right in the middle of the stretch you're looking at. Keeping these old Michelin map books pays off sometimes - but it's also currently mentioned in the Camping France website, Lot et Garonne departement!
