The link is probably wrong about foreign vehicles atm. The online application form won't take non French reg nos. ZCR only includes inner Paris to just outside inner Peripherique but does not include inner Peripherique. Map here. Most Brit trippers bypassing Paris use Super Peripherique which is middle ring or Francilienne outer ring so will not be driving in the Paris ZCR zone.

Even if you travel inside the Peripherique I can't find a way to use the online form for a British registered vehicle.
Having searched for the promised English version - I would guess its publication will be following the French 'normalement' timing!!

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
And here are some instructions for checking the emissions standard relevant to your car. It's a bit tricky to use, but hey I managed so it can't be that hard!
Can anyone confirm whether you will still need the sticker if you don't intend to drive within the 'zones'? Have heard anecdotally that the police are fining vehicles outside of the areas affected for not displaying them. We have just booked a last minute holiday, not sure we have time to get one now, as they are taking a while to arrive, apparently.
Does anyone have any advice please?
Not heard that anywhere.
If you are worried, when you have applied they send a confirmation by email with a copy of the sticker to be printed out and used until you get the proper one.
For under 5 euros delivered to the UK and valid for the lifetime of the car it seemed a no-brainer to me so we're OK whatever our future plans and destinations are.
Ours took a week but demand may stretch it now. You do get a confirmation which could be printed pro tem.
Having got rid of tax discs last thing I want in my windscreen is another sticker. Especially one that has to be in right hand corner of windscreen obstructing view. I've yet to see one in a French car on a couple of recent day trips.
Stickers only required in centres of 3 French cities so far & I never drive into city centres so I'm unlikely to ever need one. This is not remotely a talking point in France. It is of interest only to those who drive in the 3 cities so far affected.
Would you pay the congestion charge if you did not drive into central London? Would you even think about the congestion charge? Which is why most French do not even think of Crit'Air.
Again, it's not worth the hassle of not having one.
Very easy web-site to use.
You need to photo your V5 registration certificate and then keep on reducing the image until it fits the size required by the site. That's the only tricky bit.
As above, a copy of the email response will apparently keep the police happy.

In the longer thread you said:
"What one needs to appreciate is how badly this is going down with ordinary French folk. It will mean for many they cannot drive their car into town & they cannot afford anything newer. Diesel cars have always been popular in France due to one time very wide price difference diesel/petrol which still exists to a lesser extent. Any visitor to France will note how many older cars are about most of them diesels even small ones like Peugeot106 etc..."
It is what it is. Folks can get one, or not get one.
I've driven into the centres of both Paris and Lyon and several of the "interested" towns listed below and this year we're only an hr away from Grenoble, should we decide to have a day out.
Add in the potential for more to join in and I don't want to have to base our plans around having a sticker delivered for under 5 euros and valid for the lifetime of the car.
Spread around the windscreen corners I've got a tip permit, a Swiss vignette, an NT sticker, and now a Crit'Air sticker. Don't affect vision and the car will be replaced just before its first MOT.
But yes. Folks can make their own mind up. It's one thing I don't want to have to think about again whatever our future plans are and whatever these places decide to do:
Avignon, Faucigny, Glières, Bonneville, Arras, Lille, Annemasse, Le Havre, Bordeaux, Montpellier, Cannes, Reims. Clermont-Ferrand, Rouen, Champlan, Saint-Etienne, Côte Basque-Adour, Strasbourg, Dunkerque, Saint Maur-des-Fossés, Dijon, Toulouse, Epernay, and Vallée de la Marne.

My advice is worth no more than the price paid for it
It states quite clearly on the official website that stickers are only required in the affected cities ... Don't believe all the silly headlines in the British press! Some of us can't get stickers even if we wanted one ... They're not gonna start fining everybody with an older car outside of the affected cities!
Staying in touch, as i do, with one of the larger French classic car clubs, I haven't seen much of them being up in arms tbh.
For the price though, if there's a possibility you might need it, as mike says, why wouldn't you just get one!
There are only three cities at the moment but another twenty will be using the system in the near future. Our sticker was delivered last month so we are not bothered about where we drive. 4.8 euros is a lot less than a 130 euro fine and the time wasting agro that might result.
Regards Bob.
