We have joined the forum, unfortunately there isn't a a section for us, we are 'in between' the various sections.
We show a large horizontal diesel engine, and after suffering a bit from lack of facilities at shows, we decided to build our own 'toy-hauler'.
We designed it ourselves and apart from the main chassis welding, did the rest outside the house.
The rear section carries the engine, while the front is where the living quarters are. We bought an accident-damaged Swift Challenger 360SE and broke that up for the interior parts such as fridge/cooker. water heater etc etc.
We have been over to Holland with it in June with no problems, but we haven't finished the living quarters yet. Just starting to sort the shower/toilet room out.
Hopefully there should be a picture above that shows the beast at Hook of Holland, waiting for the ferry home. We tow it with a Land Rover Discovery 2 V8 on LPG, it weighs 3.5tonnes fully loaded.
I'll have some questions about some of the interior bits as we go along, but for now I am tackling the cracked shower base.

We got the chassis back from the shot blasters and painters on the 15th April:
And so on. We got the brakes and lights sorted out on the 9th June and drove to the ferry at 5am the next morning.
The drawbar parks itself up against the front when we are at home:
Here's the interior of the living bit so far:
We are just at the stage of repairing the shower/vanity unit and looking at repairing the shower tray base, which is cracked. The Thetford C4 cassette toilet is OK, the cooker and fridge and sink have yet to go in.
Cool ,my OH will love that (when he wakes up ) How many gallons to the mile are you getting tho ? ;) ( yes I think I did get that right way around lol )

We were getting 10mpg on LPG with the trailer and car fully laden, that was for the run from Harwich to Home. For the Nuenen to Hook of Holland stretch we did slightly better at 11.25mpg on LPG.
In mpg terms that is about 17mpg and 19.5mpg in petrol cost equivalent (80p per litre for LPG and £1.39 per litre for petrol)

fantastic job, was this little gem your prototype.
Actually, no :-)
It started out with the basic premise that we had to carry the engine and provide accomodation equivalent to a 12ft 2-berth caravan, including a shower and toilet. That was the minimum.
If I can find the shots, I can show you two caravan bodies that were married to a trailer and a truck chassis, one very well done, one not so well done but still effective.
I think they are on my phone camera, I'll have a look.
The first one is on a Mercedes truck chassis, nicely done but the rear was a bit untidy, possibly as the chassis was too long and he couldn't handle the shortening.
The second is a 4-axle trailer, very unusual, with a 12ft caravan plonked on the back. The trailer was British-built by a company near Manchester.
