I ve just mislaid a tool I used to use to clean terminals in hook up cables and on car i e where car caravan link via elec cablesIt was a small metal item enabling one to use each en to respectively clean Mae and female fotments Does anyone know where I can get one or a way of cleaning insides of hook up connections on cables and car

You used to get fine wire brush type tools that would do the job but I've not seen them for ages.
I generally squirt a bit of switch cleaner into plug/socket whenever I go away and never (as yet) had any problems. Once the fittings become 'tired', I replace them.

I usually use a spray of brake cleaner and use a small bottle brush. Follow that with a smidge of WD40.
