We're proud to support the Great British Campout which is raising money for the registered charity "NHS Charities Together".
As the Coronavirus lockdown continues, even though you have to stay at home you might be able to still go camping, and even better support our NHS staff.
Whether in your campervan or caravan on your drive, or a tent in your garden, over the coming weeks why not camp at home and donate your "pitch fee" to the NHS!
You could donate say £2.00 (or more if you like) in lieu of your pitch fees, which will go to NHS staff, volunteers and patients impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.
So far over £150,000 has been raised, but we can do more!
All money raised is going to the NHS Charities Together, a registered charity (No: 1186569) which is supporting NHS staff and volunteers caring for Covid-19 patients
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Why Camp at Home?
Well first and foremost because it's at home, no lockdown regulations being broken! You can make up your own site rules. Hot clean showers? Tick! Food on site? Tick ! Electric hook up ? Tick! (extension cable from house)
Put up a tent in your garden, or sleep in your campervan or caravan on your drive. If you don't have space in your garden you could even try pitching a small pop up tent in your living room!
A quick note on campfires: You might be tempted to have a campfire, but please remember councils and fire brigades are requesting you don't do this. There's of course the risk of accident for fire and ambulance crews that are already overstretched, and the fact that coronavirus attacks the respiratory system makes it even more important to avoid smoke inhalation for you and your neighbours. Please use our own good judgement and think of others.

Too cold for us - but really pleased I ignored my husband and didnt sell our big canvas tent as we'll definitely be 'camping' in the garden when it gets warmer xx
First I'd heard of this; if I had a campervan to move into I'd do it like a shot, but my tent doesn't fit on my lawn! Good fund-raising idea though, for all those thwarted campers out there. Mostly dry, not too cold, nice day due tomorrow - it's all good. In most places, anyway!
First I'd heard of it, too, but the mini heatwave hasn't arrived here and besides, my only flat patch is currently mud and droppings, thanks to the deer!
We were camping out over the weekend too. Great opportunity to test out the Olpro tent we won in the Advent Calendar competition, as well as raise money for a vital cause.
We started camping at "Ourdrive Campsite" on Friday night, and "came home" today as I have to work (from home) tomorrow... It actually coincided with the Cubs virtual camp on the Saturday night too.

We did this over Easter weekend for 3 nights. Set up 2 tents, one for my 11 year old son and one for me and my 8 year old son. They really enjoyed it and I was surprised they slept well all night. We cooked breakfast on the Coleman stove And evening meals on the BBQ. It was a really warm weekend in our garden. I think we may be doing it again soon.
