The Paddock Touring Park in Wolsingham , Co. Durham is an award winning family run site situated alongside the River Wear and makes an ideal base for visiting many of the attractions the North East of England has to offer.
It's a five minutes walk into Wolsingham which offers 3 public houses, 1 coffee shop, 2
takeaways, a local butcher, baker, gift shop, Spar and convenience store.
Although ball games and cycling are not allowed on the site, only a 10 minute
walk from the site is a large recreation area, a lovely children’s play area, an
outdoor fitness station and a new skateboard park. The Sports Hall and Indoor
Swimming Pool are a 15 minute walk from the site.
Dogs are very welcome and there are many walks directly from the site, and it's five minutes to lovely riverside walks.
The Paddock Touring Park is open from March to October, has hard standings (and 1 grass pitch) with electric hook-ups, a recently converted shower and toilet block, Chemical disposal point, washing up area and information point.
Complete site booking is also available for family gatherings, small rallies, local shows etc. - bookings now being taken for next season.
Hamsterley Forest with it’s miles of fantastic bike trails is less than 10
minutes drive from Wolsingham and is great for mountain bikers, walkers and dog
owners.
Next door is an accessory shop with gas and awning sales, and there is a caravan/motorhome workshop on site - appointments necessary.

Kynren is an epic tale told in a spectacular outdoor theatre in Bishop Auckland. Watch legends come to life in a thrilling tale told on an epic scale - 2,000 years in the making. Starting at sunset and ending in starlight, the show is set against the magnificent backdrop of Auckland Castle in Bishop Auckland, less than 20 minutes drive from the Paddock Touring Park.
Kynren is the UK's biggest live action outdoor theatre production and will be showing from mid July to mid September. The show begins at sunset and ends in starlight. At it's heart a family friendly journey through 2000 years of history, myth and legend from Boudicca's rebellion to Viking invasions, Norman conquest, Tudor drama and Queen Victoria.
The show will take visitors on a spellbinding voyage through history as seen through the eyes of Arthur, the son of a North East, mining family. From the fog of war and the noise of battle to the heat of industry; from Romans to Victorians, from the lavish pomp and pageantry to thrilling choreography, amazing stunts, equestrianism, special effects and pyrotechnics.
This family-friendly open-air extravaganza is a feast for all the senses and a brilliant way to enjoy the long summer evenings in the North East.
