Measuring your Caravan Awning Size

When it comes to choosing a new awning, if you don't have a handbook for your caravan then measuring it can baffle you. There is a simple method for measuring your awning size accurately.

Different awning manufacturers will use different size ranges depending on who they are, this simple guide will help ascertain your awning size and confidently go to a manufacturer and choose the correct awing.

Always ensure that your caravan is on level ground and simply measure from X to Y, ground to ground, along the caravan channel (as shown by the dotted line on the diagram). A good way to do this accurately is to feed string through the channel, ensure both ends are touching the ground and then measure the string.

To measure your van for the correct height of porch awning, measure from the awning channel above the door down to the ground.
