Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show 2004

The Caravan and Outdoor Leisure Show, at Earls Court from 2nd - 7th November 2004 was the place to see all the new 2005 models of caravans, motorhomes, mobile holiday homes, camping gear and accessories.

There was a wide range of new products and services to choose from and the chance to preview all the latest new models. There was a great line up for you including special features and outdoor leisure activities for all the family.

Some of the special features included:

  • Great Family Fun! With live entertainment and offerings of advice to all visitors,
  • The great Accessory Superstores boasting all the essentials you needed for your holidays in the great outdoors,
  • The annual World Tent Pitching Championships inviting the crème de la crème of campers from across the world to compete against each other in simulated gale, rain or snow storm in their bid to become World Champions,
  • There was a wide choice of restaurants from Pizza Express to Dash and Costa Coffee,
  • And finally there was great entertainment for the Kids, featuring all kinds of fun activities! Kids went free and there was a crèche for the under 8’s so perfect for a great family day out!

The show is aimed at the outdoor leisure industry and featured all aspects of this from caravan and motorhome dealers, to holiday parks, static holiday home parks, tents and trailer tents dealers, folding campers and plenty of equipment stores.

I found that the show was more biased toward the caravan and motorhome dealers with a massive display of all the new models available for the forthcoming season ahead, this was fantastic if you were in the market for a new van or motorhome and offered a huge variety of choice.

The tent section was a little disappointing with what seemed not as a great a choice of tents on offer as I would have expected, with that said there was still still a good selection to start you off on your search though. Many tents were all pitched up and you were free to wander around them and get a good feel for what you get for your money.

Again the trailer tent and folding campers seemed a bit of an after thought as with the tent displays but still offered an adequate choice to begin making your choices on what is on offer.

The accessory stores offered a wide range of products, most at reduced show rates ensuring that you walk away with a bargain and most would hold your bulky items till the end of the show to save you lugging them around for the rest of the day.

As the show is held at Earls Court parking can be a bind but is available on the site at an additional cost, but the most convienient way of attending would be to visit on the train and tube.

Overall a great show with lots on offer is your are in the market for caravans or motorhomes, but a little disappointing if your interest is tents, trailer tents and folding campers, but one to check out at the end of the season to see what the following year has to offer.
