Why Sanremo is such a special new tourer for Venture
Leading specialist caravan retailer
Venture Caravans has just announced an exciting initiative – its own
range of stylish caravans, to be sold under the Sanremo name.
The seven-model line-up promises a strong marriage of top construction,
generous specifications, low towing weights and extremely competitive
on-the-road prices, from £13,990 to £16,490. They are made by Elddis with
several bespoke features requested by Venture Caravans.
“This is our first project with Elddis,” explains Dave Brown, Director at
Venture Caravans. “We’ve been overwhelmed with Elddis’ enthusiastic support.
After many hours’ work on both sides, when the first caravans arrived we
were absolutely blown away.”
He adds: “We set out to produce something that’s not out there yet. They had
to be keenly priced and low in weight. But with an upmarket and sporty look.
“We’ve also set these up to appeal to a younger caravanner – or at least
those that are a bit younger at heart!
“First stage had to be the use of the latest Elddis SoLiD construction
technology as we’ve had really positive feedback about it. But, we’ve taken
things a step further, because our Sanremo caravans all have GRP sides
(rather than the aluminium), and they are silver-sided!”
Every Sanremo will be on Al-Ko running gear, complete with hitch stabiliser
and Secure wheel lock receiver as standard. Alloy wheels complete the
distinctive looks, while other standard features (model specific) include
dual-fuel hob, microwave oven, Svenson TV aerial, stereo radio/CD player,
slatted bed bases and superior soft furnishings that include the latest 100
per cent recyclable Ozio upholstery, called Riviera, from Leisure
Furnishings. There will even be a properly branded owner’s manual.
The Sanremo line-up currently includes:
- 304 – a clever four-berth with L-shaped front lounge and rear
dinette, but only 5.74m in length , with a maximum weight of just
1,069kg and a starting price of just £13,990
- 402 – a perennially popular two-berth floorplan, with a full end
- 434 – this marks the return of the traditional double lounge
floorplan that proved so successful for families. Its maximum weight is
still just 1,200kg, and price is from £15,490
- 435 – as above, but with an additional transverse bunk bed fitting,
to make it a five-berth
- 504 – a fixed bed model, with a full-width end washroom, but
retaining a low weight
- 526 – a family-friendly six-berth, with fixed rear bunks plus a side
- 574 – a popular twin single bed/end washroom layout, with a maximum
weight of 1,286kg
