 We have been spending Christmas with my parents in Northern Ireland and are on the Belfast to Birkenhead ferry today which is usually an 8 hour crossing. We sailed out of Belfast for about 45 minutes....  ....more

After the recent storms, power cuts, blocked roads etc.... now we have snow! Without power we had no heating except the fire in the lounge and had to rely on the cooker in the campervan for our meal.... ....more

Just had a top-up of central heating oil delivered. Last November, oil cost 37.1 pence/ltr., this year it is 55.7 pence/ltr. (plus VAT)

Yesterday my blood pressure was checked at an eye clinic. It was found to be 175/95.
I have never had it this high before. I checked it again at home at night and it was 170/95.
