I'm looking at walking the gorge with my 9 year old next week and wonder if anyone has a recommendation on site to pitch up at that allows us to walk from? I've looked at the site search her.... ....more

I've asked Santa for a down jacket, but for some reason he has outsourced the purchase to my wife.
There are regular reviews on the Decathlon down jacket, so this is probably my jacket.... ....more

Had a great weekend despite Storm Malik. To keep my backpacking tent dry for the wild pitch I used my North Face Mountain 25 tent on Friday night - hardly moved during the storm. .... ....more

I mentioned on my trip report I had picked up a campingaz globetrotter for 5 euros in a French flea market.
It came with a canister (empty), the pots, the pot handle and the original strap.

Went backpacking many years ago along the Norfolk coast with a mate, I carried the tent and stove he carried cooking pans,tent poles and food.
