I have just become the owner of a secondhand 5th generation Camplet Concorde and my first impression is very favourable though I have found spares/additions hard to find and then I find them all expensive. Being just up the road from Camperlands I suppose I am luckier than many who have to rely on postal purchases.
We haven't tried the TT out on a campsite yet but have erected it several times in the garden which we found not quite as easy as the videos made it look, especially the repacking element, but we are getting better. We haven't joined the bent pole club yet but the previous owner certainly did. As the day will come when inevitably I join the club, I have been busy in the garage fabricating a replacement section.
All the above notwithstanding, my wife and I who are on the wrong side of 65, have booked the ferry for September with the intention of meandering through Europe to a final destination at a rally in Spain
Enough of my rambling and what I would like to know is if there a Camplet Owners Club? I have seen earlier mention of this but the trail to fizzle out. It would be good to speak to other Camplet owners and share experiences and hints/tips
Hi there and welcome to the forum, I hope you have many good travels with your new purchase.
Could you fill in your outfit and location in your profile please as this can be a help to others, thanks.

How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Hi we are not in a club but had our complete savanne for 6 years now and love it. Our packing times got quicker with practise and we find it a very comfortable unit. Enjoy your trip!

We absolutely love our Savanne. We're both in our 60's and hubby is an amputee in a wheelchair.
Yes they do make it look easy to put up. We manage with a rope attached to luggage rack with hubby pulling while I lift up..if you get me.
This may help others who aren't quite as young as they used to be
Thanks for your reply. We tried again last night and the trailer tent went uo ok. Packing down seems to still be a problem as it appears when closing the lid that it does not align properly. I am sure we will get there in the end
Hi we bought or Camp-Let as our caravan was written off by young man in a Transit, and the insurance money we got back payed for a relatively new Camp-Let.
We were thinking it was a temporary solution but we have now travelled much further. We have been to Holland, France twice and are planning to travel to Spain, if the Covid19 issue does not stop us.
We rate the Camp-Let highly. It is so easy to tow, you only pay for a car at French toll points, we find the bed really comfortable and there is something different about sleeping under canvas.
If there are any Camp-Let rally's would be interested in attending?
I’ve seen online a Camplet meet up or rally in Slovenia or somewhere around there. It’s a bit to far for me to get to as I’m working and only get so much holiday.
I’d be happy to suggest we start one. I propose a weekend in say Valley View camp site, Lynton, Devon on 1st weekend in September. Good last camping stop of the year.
I like all the good comments on the Camplet, I bought a 2010 concorde last October but have only been able to open it up in the garden so far. I would be interested in a rally, Devon is a fair trip from Derbyshire but would be up for it depending on my work situation. I am starting a new job but my start date is on hold at then moment.
Hi all, we have just put a deposit on a camplet royal, its a 2008 model and im a little nervous we are paying steeply (£3450) in comparion to buying the latest model around 5/6k. Shall have to wait till the restrictions are lifted to visit camperlands and view it in person to see the difference 😁 eek! Any tips to newbie tt owners, is it much different to camping in a tent?

Hopefully a few more this year!
Hi not aware there is a full Club but there is one, just on Facebook.
We are 4 years in with our Camp-Let, and find is surprising good. The more we use it the easier it get to put up and down. If the weather is good and you are heading into warmer climes then you can get away with not pegging down fully. Also means you are away sooner.
Try to minimise what you take. Although not the cheapest option, we run Campingaz 907 bottles, as they take up less space, the gas hob in the Camp-Let runs better on them than Calor Gas, (probably the gas regulators) and when you are abroad you can get replacements.
We try not to do much more than 200 miles in a day, thus you have time to set up and pack up without feeling to pressurised. If we were the right side of 60, we would go further.
Two bits of kit (if you have electric hook up) that we have really appreciated, are the Honeywell HZ-510E1 fan heater (so quite) and the electric blanket, although I was criticised for wasting money on it. My wife changed her view after a couple if cold nights, last September in the UK.

Not that I know much about the marketplace for these, but for something 12 years old that price seems stageringly high compared to new.

We bought out tent secondhand from camperlands and it was great as it had a full service, new tyres and they changed the water pipe, gas pipe etc... So we had a secondhand tent that was in tip top Condition. We have had our tent for 6 years now and just love it. Its been a great buy. Enjoy!

Sorry but I’m with you Blueexpo97. I have a 2010 Camplet Concord that I think is valued £2000 - £2500. It has all the accessories except the genuine Camplet cover. I think I’d value a Royal £3k Maximum and for that I’d have to come with everything:
Side storage
Spare wheel
Electric hook up
Bed slats
Awning
Camp carpet
Storage box
New tyres
That said once you get a camplet I don’t think you’ll ever go back. We where thinking of upgrading to a newer one last year but I have my hart set on a 2019 (kitchen folds right out side for cooking) and can’t part with that kind of cash.
Finally YouTube “Camplet setup” and “Camplet bent pole club”
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
