Just finished upgrading my esterel folding caravan. However it needs new gas struts so happy to read where I can get them on here!
So I thought I’d share my hard work with you.
My inner water pipe became dislodged and flooded caravan floor at weekend, extremely annoyed but thankfully no damage done as very warm weather dried it fast. Has anyone else ever had this problem?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
Thank you! Blood sweat and tears but got there in the end. Fab I’ve just read about a few places to get the gas struts so that’s a relief. Back end goes up quite easily but won’t stay up when I push the front end up… and boy it’s heavy… I’m just a svelte 5”4 female and I don’t want to look like a twat on-site (we all know everyone is watching cos I do it too 🤭)
Gas struts are often 'standard' off the shelf items, but you need to match a few things for them to fit/work, the length open and closed, and the force they exert, also matching the fixing points. Much of that info is often marked on the body of the existing strut, but with the exception of the force, you can measure everything for yourself.
Sometimes gets a little confusing, as some sellers quote overall length end-end, and others to the fixing centres if coming with ball and socket type attachment which can mean the strut is a little shorter when mounted than is required, not always clear on sellers specs!
SGS listed in the link I posted, as was previously discussed in that thread.
------------- XVI yes?
