The lights on the trailer tent have started to be a bit odd. If I have the headlights on, the trailer tail lights are on, but are really bright and the brake lights do not work. If I turn off the headlights, the brake lights work, but they are the not so bright lights. It's like the brake lights and retail lights have swapped around. The indicators work fine no.problem. I have a factory fitted SEAT towbar and wiring in 71 plate Leon estate. Any ideas?

I presume this combination of car and trailer has worked ok before? If so, you could have an earth fault, probably on the trailer. These can cause some very strange effects. Using an adapter you have several connections which may not be making proper contact, maybe trying some WD40 on each of the connections may work, as the earth pins in one of the connections may not be making proper contact.
