I'm new Camplet owner and i have questions about a lot of things. Some of them are really stupid others probably not. Can this thread be about my questions and Camplet owners come to the rescue? Any Camplet owners on this forum and willing to help?
I'll also have general trailer tent questions so others are free to join.
- what do you use for bed (foam) cover? Simple bed sheets without elastic ( I hate this, because they come out) or did you give someone to make them with elastic? I think buying shop version of 140x200 will not really fit?
- Both me and wife like left bed more, because it doesn't have wheel covers and is wider. Is sleeping on the left ok for construction of the trailer? One child will be on the right.
- Ok, another bed question: left corner bed foam of the left bed looks and is higher then the rest of the bed. Is that normal or are we doing anything wrong?
Yep,the left bed is higher, and we used it when not on very soft ground, with both matresses at the same time. Always meant to make up a fitted sheet, never did.

Duct tape is silver
I don't think that the whole left bed is higher. I think that the left upper side of the left bed is higher then the rest of the same bed. Is that normal?
King sized fitted sheets will fit apart from the wheel arches. I altered one to fit, but there might be enough fabric to make it tuck in, I don't know what other people do.
I have fleecey thermal mattress toppers that I keep on the beds on the time so they act as a bit of a mattress protector when packing/transporting. I then used fitted sheets on top. They are all king size and I just stretch and barely tuck in, if there is such a thing as a superking size that sounds fabulous.
We sleep on rhs as we have slats on this side, and also I like to make the seat up on the other side.
I wonder if one of your legs is a little too high also as I am sure my beds are both level.

Thank you, i will check the level and use your ideas.
New questions:
- What do you use to make the left bed level? Two legs that come to the ground are probably not good enough. They can sink in etc. Did you use wood or any other special tool to put it under the legs?
- How do you lock your Camp let when you are not in it or when you are in it? Where do you store valuable items?
Camplets have been around since 1968, so, if two legs were 'not good enough' then I think they would have noticed that, by now. They are height adjustable, for levelling, and, then, the usual, and cheaper, preference is for a couple of blocks of wood, underneath, to spread the load, and prevent sinking, on softer ground, although you can buy purpose made 'feet' for this, which also help.
To be honest, that's a bit like saying; "how do you lock a tent"? Simple answer; you don't, and, if you did, a determined thief would just go for the easiest option, as they normally do, and slash the canvas, to get in, so location of valuables is more important. I think the vast majority of us store them out of sight, in our cars when we're not around, and keep smaller, high value items, like wallets etc on our person when out and about, and in the bed pod pockets, next to us, at night time. You can buy mini safes, which work well in folding campers and traditional trailer tents, but I'm not sure where you'd put one in a Camplet.
Thefts from camp sites are, thankfully, extremely rare, but it doesn't hurt to take precautions, so car boot is probably your best option, in most cases.
------------- The one good thing about being wrong is the joy it brings to others..
I carry offcuts of wood to go under the bed legs, corner steadies and the kitchen legs.
To secure your valuables keep them in the car is about as good as it gets. I have thought about screwing a little metal box for storing things like passports in one of the kitchen cupboards but then there'd be less room when it comes to storing stuff when its packed.
We purchased 2 double sleeping bag liners for the larger sections of the mattress and 3 single sleeping bag liners for the smaller sections. A few minutes work to alter them on a sewing machine to take up excess material and you have removeable washable sheet coverings.
We just use double bed fitted sheets from ikea since they are longer to go on the mattress, and I bought elephant feet to go on the steadies. valuables are kept in the carbon camping 25 years with no issues.

Hello,
I am a brand new camplet owner.
This may a stupid question but:- I have tried to erect it in the garden. So far so good. Kitchen set up. Oyster shell arrangement open. Here comes the crunch.
All the fabric inside was in a bit of a tangle. Also the kitchen had been jammed in off the hanging lip. Having untangled everything, I almost got the thing up but it got caught somewhere. Then I read that you have to insert the short connecting pole in the middle of the 2 black diagonal telescopic poles. Problem is that the two poles just do not match up! so no way can I connect them. I must be doing something wrong. Problem is that I bought the camplet in Germany. (I live in France. No dealers here) so not very easy to take it back and ask. The camplet came with no instructions so I
am relying on you tube videos! Does anyone have a link to a roper set of instructions?
Hope someone can help?
Thanks.
