Hi
We have just got our Pennine Pathfinder 2004, which my wifes sister was so kind to drive to Denmark.
I am now preparing it for MOT here in Denmark.
It has got a black 7 pin plug and a grey 7 pin plug for cennecting to the car.

What is the grey plug for?

How do I get the reverse light to work?

I have changed the black 7 pin plug to a 13 pin plug.

The grey plug (known as a 12S - for 'Supplementary') is for all the connections over and above basic road lights, and reversing lights on trailers were NOT considered a basic light requirement in the days of the original single black (12N) plug. Reversing lights became mandatory (in the UK) at a later date.

Chapter and verse here on the history and variations of trailer wiring over the years, complete with wiring diagrams. https://www.caravanclub.co.uk/globalassets/pdfs/content/advice-and-training/towbar........

You can obtain adaptors to couple the old 7 pin 12N and 12S trailer plugs to a modern car's 13pin socket. https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166943047850?var=0&_ul=GB&mkevt=1&mkcid=1&mkrid=710-534........ Other suppliers available.

There have been various plugs and sockets used on the continent that differ from the info above, which is UK based.

Good, glad to be of assistance. Believe me, I'm only one of many on here who 'problem solve' for the benefit of others.

The update is appreciated.
