Hi all, I have a slight problem that hopefully the forum can come up with an answer for At some point, someone has tripped over the guy lines on our Cabanon Saturn and ripped the vinyl guy line attachment points, all 4 of them on one side! Spoke with Cabanon but no joy, apparantly they have no information regarding the tents manufactured before the new owners took over!! So the question is, does anyone know what the material is used for the guy line tabs and are there any recommendations for an adhesive tape that could be applied that would be strong enough to take the strain of the guy lines?

Any replies are gratefully recieved.

Kind regards,

Ron.

Don't know your TT, so can't advise on materials used, but not aware of any adhesive tape that would be strong enough to reattach ripped off guy anchors in a suitably durable manner. That sort of damage normally requires sewn patch/reinforcing repair, with maybe a seam sealer applied to restore waterproof properties.

One of the problems is a failed repair using inappropriate materials often leaves adhesive residue and/or further damage that makes correct repair more difficult/extensive. Guy anchor points take a LOT of strain, so repair needs to match or exceed original construction.

A photo of damage may make it easier to advise on best repair.

Hi Devon -Pixie
Have you contacted a local awning/tent repair establishment close to you, they should be able to match up the material from the other guide line attachment & do the necessary repairs, I took my waning to a local repair shop to be extended & the panel they put in was virtually invisible

Aren't the guy attachment points on a Saturn plastic or metal D rings, at roof height? Have the seams torn? Or do you mean the plastic rings themselves have been broken?
