There's a difference between being optimistic and giving bad advice though isn't there?   For instance Greggors in your first post you don't mention charging the battery with your vehicle, the impression given by your post is that a 4w charger is sufficient for your needs when obviously that isn't the case.

I'm all for solar power and experimenting and our 12w charger is giving us pretty good service for charging phones/cameras and some tv watching...but I think it's better to be realistic when offering advice.

The full facts rather than insults would be helpful. You didn't mention car charging, and still a 4W charger is a waste of space compared with your loads.

You ask ,how long do they last ? i have had a leisure battery last for five years ,never took it of the van ,hook it up to the electic,on returning home and let the caravan charger trickle charge it back to full charge.
