I agree that the Camplet trailer tents are a bit on the pricey side. We bought our royale in the early 90's but within a few holidays it had more than paid for itself (compared to hiring a cottage etc) If you look at it that way, it's probably worth it and you'll have it for years to come. Ours is still like a brand new tent, the quality is so good. Another thing to consider is the size of the trailer when it's not in use - ours is stored on it's side in the garage, very handy!

We got our Concorde in 2007 and have now used it for 2 seasons. We have just got back from Croatia, have never done UK so far. Its a great product but takes longer to set up than you hope and we therefore tend to stay at the same site for a min of 4 days. We only ever go as a couple and therefore only use 1 bed. We use the lid bedroom and the trailer bed as storage. We have been thinking of ideas to speed up the setting up when touring and have come up with the following. Does anyone have any comments or different ideas.
1. Groundsheet - going to cut it to exact size, so we can put it down first and peg to it.
2. Pegging, any way to speed it up - wondered about using an electric screwdriver with the threaded pegs we bought.
3. Taking out the trailer side mattress and inner tent, so can get more stuff in the Camplet (tables, chairs etc) and buy some simple lightweight drawers for clothes etc, that can be left in the Camplet (caravan style).
4. Top box that can stay on, quicker than tying stuff to the Camplet rack. Is there an end opening one that could be accessed from inside the erected Camplet ?

Useful comments Mike. Following our demo at Camperlands, OH did comment that they'd only showed half of what had to be done.  While we were there they showed us some of those collapsible plastic crates (you can get them at Wilkinsons etc) which apparently are just the right height for packing in the trailer body. We thought they would be useful for putting clothes etc. in.

I've been away for the last two weekends.  The trips I have done since I bought it last September has made up for the price.  I have made so many more weekend away's than I would have done if I had to hire a caravan or cottage.  I love it and like the rest of you I have never seen another Camplet.  Were do you all get too?

As some of you have also said I too get an audiance when I am putting it up and taking it down, so far nothing bad has happened to me.

Louise
