Yes I don't think the underfloor heaters could be fitted in the later models because of new safety laws. It was a pretty powerful heater and we never needed it on for more than about 5 mins. I must say it wasn't very child friendly though - you needed to keep little ones on the beds while it was in use!
Yup , that metal plate does look like an accident waiting to happen. I can almost smell the buring of bare feet & hear the cursing
THUMPER.

Love the underfloor heater! We've used ours this week for an hour or so at night and it's lovely to be able to sit and read and chill without having to add extra clothing.
We now use a low wattage halogen electric heater in the awning - gives a nice glow as well as warmth. If we need heat in the Dandy (which is very rare), putting a burner on for 5 mins does the trick!
When the sun went in at night even the 19 degrees inside Doodle wasn't warm enough (the sun had tanned us nicely)we have a small convector heater for overnight use but didn't take it this time as we didn't need heat overnight. But yes, the burner does warm the inside up nicely too, however, the dogs would have been disappointed at not being able to sit by it lol.
