Hi Val I paid £175. Probably payed to much but we think its fab.

If it's in good condition then that's a fair price to be honest. CombiCamps in good condition are sought after items and Conway is a very good brand name so there's no reason to think their quality is inferior to a branded CombiCamp. And it's quite possibly a rebadged CombiCamp anyway as folk here have suggested.

Short term it's probably worth buying a basic tarp set up, say from Decathlon, and working out how to rig it as a sun canopy on your TT. If there are any eyelets or O-rings on the top corners and ridge bar then you'd have somewhere to attach tarp corners and you can just pole it out. This would give you a sheltered cooking and eating area, especially if you added a wind break. Or you could use a day room of some sort...more expensive of course but very sturdy.

TVS would definately be able to make you a front awning btw...they have all the old Conway plans and specs. They may even have a suitable matching canvas because they hold all the old Conway stock. Worth a call anyway, but the price might be a bit "eek!" They do sell canvas by the metre as well so if you were handy with a sewing machine it is possible to make basic sun canopies etc yourself.

Hi Val, My partner as just given TVS a call. Bad news, they dont have anything for the gazelle model as it was a one off model. If i did want an awning made it would cost me between £500 - £1000 pound. So looks like we are gonna have to make do.

Thanks for all the advice.

Donna.

We had one of these, bought in 1985, complete with full awning, kitchen and sun canopy. We used it for many years, mostly in France, where it always attracted admiring looks when we arrived on site and had it up for overnight stops in 5 minutes! We loved it.

We sold it for the price of the advert in a local paper in 2001,£30 as we wanted it to go to a good home, after we bought a campervan.

Both the awning and sun canopy zip onto the cabin section, so I doubt you would get one made for you. Better to adapt a free-standing motorhome awning I would think, you can get those cheaply enough on e-bay. Just work out a way of attaching the awning tunnel flap onto the cabin, so you can walk from one to the other in the dry.
