hey david,

when you say flat ended poles do you mean that the pole is hammerd flat or that the pole has a butt end???

the only thing i can do is tell you what ours is like, but when it is erected the kitchen only has 5 roof poles and 3 uprights

there are 4 non adjustable poles ( number 23) with plastic clips on them that make the (swinging) roof of the kitchen and one rear pole that is made up from three pole sections numbers 17,18,17 and they go together in that order to make one long pole with butt ends and a single whole on each end for the spikes on the vertical poles to go through and then through the brass eylets in the canvas.

to pitch it all takes a few minuits and to do this you clip on the 4 number 23 poles to the awning and clip the other side of those poles to the single pole you made out of the 3 ( 17,18,17 ) and just let it hang there in situe, all you do then is put the vertical poles in the wholes on each end of the pole made up from (17,18,17) and swing the whole thing up into the kitchen canvas and the kitchen will just "pop up" into shape, the hardest part is getting the spike through the eylet on the canvas, but thats only if your doing it on your own.

when i read what ive written it sounds complicated but it really is simple.. i get the feeling that you may not have the correct poles??

my model is a 2004 so if yours is older or newer it may be diffrent but the diagram on the sunncamp site states 2003.

if you need more help just post back

cheers geoff
