Just using the main unit, and the front, once we had decided where to pitch and got the direction correct, (manually moving the trailer into position on a slope(minehead c&cc site))leveled, and front wall attached, about 15mins.
what we do with the kids is to put them in the seating area as soon as we have that up. Works a treat as a "corral"
Packing away really easy and quick as well. I can see the attraction especially in good weather of not using a zig.
Just the main unit works ok for a short break, two under 5s on the hard top area. We sit mainly under the awning, in bad weather the seating area makes a great play area.
So the bottom line is that once you've unhitched, got the trailer levelled and moved the kitchen from the A frame, it really is almost as quick as the YouTube vid to get the main unit up.
This, as well as space is the main selling point of the flyer for me. I love the thought of onlookers' jaws dropping to the floor in sheer amazement and awe as the unit erects before their eyes.
One last thing, - looking at the design, there appears to be quite abit of storage for outside camping chairs and table with the trailer closed up accessible through a flap in the back. Is this the case?
I hope the the heavy down pours this morning didn't affect you too much!
Sorry but what's the zig by the way? Saw it on another thread and wondered what it was. Thought maybe the front wall of the awning. Excuse all the questions. Could tell you anything you needed to know about campervans but this is new territory for me!!
Zip In Groundsheet, some tents have a Sewn In Groundsheet (SIG), in a trailer tent they are zip in rather than sewn in. You see them in a lot of new models but they are a pretty new thing.
There is a bit of access at the back of the Flyer through a small flap, when we first got the camper we managed to put a few bits in through this gap but nothing substantial like tables and chairs.
BUT! before packing up to come home we packed the unit and there is lots of space to store said items and more-so if you only use these things for camping i suppose it isn't a problem. We have a small table, large table,2 storage cupboards, large wardobe, heater, solar lights, awning carpet, cushions (plus other things i can't remember off the top of my head stored in ours-all things we only use for camping so not a problem-as a lot of camping gear seems to be in flat boxes things pack quite well.
We seemed to have loads of bits like the extra sun canopy, under bed tent, extra heavy duty groundsheet etc that we have taken out as they will only be used on a few occasions-we have prioritised with what we used nearly every trip.
