Were thinking of going to the motorhome side. IS this the dark dark side?
Folding camper was damaged in an accident in Spain. Repair requires a new front panel, side panel, door and wheel arch. One place we went for a quote said it would most likely be written off since their estimate for repair was over £6k.

However motorhoming is very different to FC-ing and even caravanning.
We found with the motorhomes that we tended to tour more.
With the FC and the caravan, we go to a place, set up and then tour around that area.
With the motorhomes we would go to a place, stay one or maybe a couple of nights and then move on.
The only times we stayed for any length of time was when we A-framed the Moggy Minor behind us and then toured an area with that.
Whatever you decide to do, you will have lots of fun.
I am living in hope that the folding camper can be repaired as it's a 2012 model and we have just about cracked putting up the awning, and it doesn't leak.

We're going to the dark side in a couple of weeks. Bye bye faithful folding camper you have served us well!, Hello motorhome!!
Feeling anxious and excited!!
Well after owning the caravan for nearly a year now I and the family have no regrets and wouldn't go back.
The van is far warmer and more practical than the folding camper.
The extended season is great we did a weekend in Febuary and woke up with frost on the roof (lovely and warm inside though).
Another advantage I have found with storing at home it gets used as an extra room (I go there on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of beers) and listen to the football.
Still kept one tent (a Bell Tent) as I really like these but haven't used it to camp.... Only in the back garden.
So to anyone who is thinking of upgrading...don't wait just do it you won't regret it.
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
