Thanks all. We currently used an Outwell viginia 5 tent and Vango SIMS but we're getting to that point where sleeping on the floor and living out of bags is a bit much for a weeks holiday. We'd use it the the UK but I was trying to work out if a FC outweighs the cost of renting a Mobile hoe in France for 2 weeks in the summer. Mobile home is around £800-900 a week. I could buy a FC for that and use it more often.

a few years ago id actually booked a gite in france for roughly 1600 for a fortnight, we were tent campers at the time and in between tents!. we are a family of four.

had it all booked and lookiong at various tents when we stumbled across the raclet quickstop which at 6k new was waaaay over our budget 3/4 time over!

ended up buying a used 8 year old model for a little over 1k and cancelled the holiday in the gite. the campsites for a fortnight cost me a little over 600 euros.

this year i have budgeted the costs for a fortnight travelling around holland-luxembourg-bruges. including fuel ferry and campsite this comes in at 700£

so an awful lot cheaper than a mobile home during August.

i love the versatility of the quick stop, no pegging in the initial setup, and then i have one small awning that attaches to a larger awning giving plenty of space, then i have the option of sticking one child underneath in a bed pod if they no longer want to bunk together, and i also have a suncanopy that i use for short stays as shelter.

sometimes i even put it all up, takes about 45-an hour to do but with both awnings and then the suncanopy its fab.

have a google, it really is very quick to setup the main unit.
