You have to put the lever in the right position to open or shut it, thats the bit that bends the pole if its in the wrong position.

If it is up in stead of down, then the poles wont fit in place and you would not be able to shut the lid. There fore it could of been you who bent the pole?

Could that be the bit that was wrong?

Thanks again. All the above tips did really help and our w/e stay at Delemere forest went really well and thankfully stayed dry!

We used Alison's long list of what to do and in what order to remind us what to do, which was really useful.

There's one item on this list that i'm not sure of "check corner re-enforcers". Could someone possibly explain what this may mean , as i may be missing something out?

Is this the diagonal sliding support arms that hold up the corners of the awning.or something separate?

We've now booked to go to Widemouth Bay, Cornwall for a week in just over a week's time. I'm quite excited and keeping a close eye on the weather forecast!

Thanks again

Jo

Hi Jo,

I copied our checklist without thinking that my keywords might not make sense, sorry.

If you stand just inside the tent and look up at the hoops that the bedrooms hang from, there are patches on the canvas to protect it from the corners of those hoops.  They sometimes get folded or pushed out of the way when you put the tent up, so you need to check that they are in the right place.  They are a bit difficult to put in place if you notice after you have the canvas nice and taut.

I hope that explains it ok, its really hard without pictures!

All the best,
Alison

Thanks again Alison.

I sort of get the idea - but i'm hoping it will be clearer next time we put the camplet up.  I would never had any idea to check these sort of things if it weren't for all the top-tips on this message forum.

Thanks again - it's much appreciated.

(I'm going to be away from the computer for a few weeks now, i may return with more camplet questions!)
