We don't have the mud walls on the front... Can't say I've missed them or noticed that they were on the older models.... (ie there has never been a time when we've said, "wish there were mud flaps on there as that would fix a,b or c"). Can't think of anything hence, a,b,c.
Maybe they'd keep a bit of the wind out of the "awning"?
Unless they have a negative effect, I don't think I'd cut them off, as I wouldn't want to damage the canvas...
Just double checked... We have three straps on the sun canopy - two go through the spiked section of the pole? Are you missing these?
Pretty sure the canopy has two straps that are different from the norm, and they have an end that goes onto the spikes of the canopy pole. I put them between the canvas and the pole. the centre strap is a std strap that will fit onto any of the cabin guy points.
We have the sun canopy with the pole with prongs/bolts on. I can confirm it uses different straps from the rest, the end have holes in that fix over the vertical prongs/bolts.
