I've towed a fully loaded pathfinder for thousands of miles with a 90bhp car and i've also towed a 1200kg hard top camper with it for many thousands as well.
There is no way at all that you "need" a 150bhp car to tow a UK folding camper.......yes it would be nice for overtaking etc but certainly not required.
Thanks for your assessment of my opinion. You put "need" in quotes like I said it: I cannot see it in my post. Nor do I even imply that you need a 150PS car - the closest I get is that I say a) I wouldn't want to go below that level (with a much more relevant 300Nm torque figure) for our 900kg FC; and b) that the OP should, in my opinion, be looking at 120PS / 270Nm-ish.
Of course you can tow with less: but it's an increasingly unpleasant experience in hilly terrain or in towns with lots of roundabouts or traffic lights.

Your having a laugh! That much torque in the disco should pull your unit ridiculously easy.
It does: what are you suggesting I'm "having a laugh" about? All I said is the FC is "a noticeable burden", as in "you can tell it's there".
