We are picking up our car next week from the garage.
New to us. It is a ford escort 1.8 si,and we would like a tow bar,can anybody help with letting me know how much one is [a rough guide] we will ask them next week but we dont want to be ripped off.
Use a dedicated TowBar fitter locally [not your car dealer or garage] and it'll be about £150 to £200.
Or order Online [Witter are an excellent make} and fit it yourself; it's straightforaward and will only cost you about £100. Companies like Towequipe give extremely good instructions and inexpensive telephone help-line.

I see you are in York, you will have to weigh up the cost, but we always go to Horsforth Towbars, hes in yell.com, hes always quoted the best price and hes a nice and friendly customer orientated guy....will try to accomodate where he can.
(local Garage and never had a problem towing any of my vans, the latest being a 22ft Abbey!!)
we have had 3 fitted to 3 different cars at a cost of aprrox £120 all in.
Horsforth is in Leeds, you may be able to get it done cheaper where you live.
let us know how you get on, but ring round as they can vary quite a lot as I found out, I was quoted over £200 for the same when I was looking....

We have used CDF several times they are brilliant and they came out to us and fitted it in about 2 hours, cost about £150, they cover the midlands area, but I'm sure there are people local to you who can do the same job,
Hi I used KM Coachworks and Trailer Co in Slough, opposite McDonalds. They charged £195 about 3 years ago for fitting tow ball, bumper protector, twin electrics and audible indicators. Excellent job fitted while we looked round B&Q etc opposite and had a big mac..
