Could some kind camper please advise the best way to clean and re proof our tt. We bought it second hand last year and   it's got water streaks from pitching under trees and we think it's ready for reproofing afterwards. What do we need to buy and how do we do it?

Hi

The towsure catalogue has lots of items for camping in it as well as cleaning  and reproffing, and deliver to your door, i bought the cleaner and the reproffer fabsil, and it worked a treat.

it came in plastic containers, that had a spray nosel, and it was as simple as erecting the tent, make sure it is dry, and spray on, how much you need will depend on the size of your tent. takes 15 mins to dry and when dry you can dismantle the tent.

cleaner is the same idea, use this first let it dry then reproffe

hope this helps

Just done mine with Thompsons, they approve the use of it on canvas if you read the tin. Dead easy to put on, dries well and a little darker than before, and the smell doesn't last long. Nice and waterproof now, although thats hose proof rather than rain as we haven't had any!

another for the thompsons - a quarter of the price of fabsil, and when you need 2 tins minimum then it's quite a saving.
you could try cleaning with a soft brush and mild detergent - maybe washing up liquid, letting it dry and then applying the watersealer

I've done ours once only, i suppose if you were proofing virgin canvas twice would be better though.
