We have just bought our first folding camper (trigano Randger 415) second hand, and have found 2 tiny holes (slightly larger than pin prick) in the main roof section, and also a couple of pin prick sized holes near the stitching along the edge above the bed near the frame. Is it best to patch both of these with canvas, or do you think the holes near the stitching will be OK if we re-waterproof? When patching, is possible to hand sew the tarpaulin or does it need to be machine sewed?

HI.......... I think or hope for you that you at any camping store ,dealer, etc. can be able to buy some repair parts, there are some that is supposed to be ironed on to the broken canvas, or as I have done when repairing my combi camper ,using contact glue.
wouldnt worry about pin prick holes if you water proofed it,
we had ours fixed last year and when we put it up we can see daylight through all the seams over the beds when its under tension yet its never leaked once and we been out in some heavy long peroids of rain.
How old is the canvas? Even new cotton canvas has pin prick holes in, until it is properly weathered (good soaking then allowed to dry fully under tension). I'd check it out thoroughly before re-proofing, since good canvas can go 20 years if it is well cared for. I definitely wouldn't patch if it wasn't entirely necessary.
