I'd like to be independent of EHUs and am thinking whether it would be useful to get a leisure battery - only I have no idea how to use them, fit them, where to put them in my combicamp panda. Can anyone give me some advice on this and whether or not it would be useful/easy etc?

Hi Dotty,

I have a Combicamp Panda too!!

Mine has a fitted EHU, but it's useful to have a leisure battery in case you go to a site without hookups available.

Ours lives in a "Trailer Pack" - a special plastic box, which is also a charger, so the battery can be charged at home, or in the boot of the car when driving.  We'd put the batterybox on the grass underneath the cabin.  I was tempted to fit it in the underbed storage box, but that would make it awkward to charge at home.  Maybe I could fit a front storage box on the draw bar and fit it in there.

Thanks, Canvas Fran. So, when on site, you put the battery on the grass underneath the camper - how do you attach things to it? Sorry for being so completely ignorant. What do you run off your battery? Where did you get it? How much was it? How long does one charge last on average? So many questions....
