Today my husband and I spent 6 hours putting up, inspecting and dismantling our Trigano Chantilly (?1992 ish) trailer tent for the first time, helped out by diagrams and instructions from kind people here on the forum. We think we did 'not a bad job', but have one pole that we have no idea what/where it is for! It is approximately 3feet long, and is hinged less than 1foot from one end. There are clips at both ends, that clearly clip at right angles to each other. Can anyone help solve our mystery?!
Also can anyone tell us if it is right that there is a diagonal upright pole in the loo/changing room section? We couldn't see any other way to assemble it, but thought it seemed a bit odd.
Hi it does sound like a wardrobe pole and this is probably the last pole to go up,
First put up the inner tent which has the toilet section and wardrobe area, from memory the longest section is the horizontal and goes through the small aperture in the wardrobe part of the inner and clips to the outer kitchen horizontal pole, the smaller part of this pole hangs vertically and clips onto the normal horizontal section and forms a robe hanger.
Thanks Andy, that does make sense. We are very confused by our wardrobe/ toilet section though - it is an old chantilly, and obviously pre-dates the innertent luxury for toilet/wardrobe/kitchen area! We literally have a 'cloth wall', with a zip just at the top left (horizontal, near the roof), as you look at it, which we assume is the loo area, then moving along the wall to the right, there is a section of pockets. However, this doesn't open, has no zips, and has a slanting outer pole behind it (i.e the middle outerpole of the awning section, sloping outwards into the kitchen recess bit), it is therefore, as far as we can see, dead space, as there's no acces to the back of it and there's this pole in the middle of it. Finally the left half of the wall is the curtains that form the kitchen area. We have one plastic divider wall, that we assume sections off the loo, but have no idea if the wardrobe section that the pole seems to be for, shoul be integrated into the loo, or the kitchen. Does this sound familiar to anyone?!? I really wish we'd taken the camera with us, as I know my ramblings are very confusing, but any advice/hints/suggestions appreciated!
Thanks. It's a similar shape, but where the two poles join is a hinge, that will let you do a 360 turn, and at the two ends is a clip, not pole ends as in the diagram. Think the wardrobe theory is the post plausible, so will try that next weekend.
The best way to work out where the pole goes is to look at the curtain divider and put it where the pockets and the kitchen curtains join so what you end up with is 4 poles connecting the awning and the kitchen extention. The shaped plastic sheet then goes down the right side of this to divide the kitchen and the changing area. The zipped bit of curtain should be closest to the trailer itself and provides the entrance to the changing area.
Hope this helps but let me know if it doesn't and will try to take pictures on our next outing

If memory serves me correct (it really hurts now!!) I also had an older chantilly, '94 I think, and the compartment was just one and could be used as a toilet area with the porta loo or as a wardrobe, or as both if you wished.
If you require the separation you could always buy a cheap length of material and knock something up using the similar clips to fix to the bars (they are quite readily available) and some elastic at the base to peg out if necessary.
We rarely peg the toilet access down and just use it like a large curtain, and only really use it at night to save the walk!!!!
Thank you all! Everything makes sense now, so the real test will be next weekend, when we actually use the TT for the first time. Like you Andy, we only intend to use the loo for night time/ emergency use only, so will see how the set up with curtains/dividers works then.
Glad you have got things sorted, yes would have said wardrobe pole we did the same with our Raclet TT we used to have, sat thinking where the **** does this go.... Enjoy your new TT
