We have a conway cruiser, my darling husband decided to give the storage cover a damn good scrub . It now leaks in when it rains. Is there anyway you can reproof the cover, as its not made of canvas i presume the thompsons waterseal will be no good??
I dont think there's much you can do with the cover. Besides, the cover is probably the most importnat part of the camper and has to be in tip top condition.
My wife and I have just sold our 2002 cruiser and are looking to buy a caravan. Last year we had our cover stolen. We bought a cheap shop soiled cover and a brand new cover. The intention was to see if the theives came back, and if so they'd only take the cheap cover (thinkng it was new). If not then we would put the new one on. In the end we left the cheap one on as it was perfectly water tight. So now we have a spare brand new cover still in the original bag, with the seal still intact if you wish to buy it. We are local to you.
We have also kept the underbed storage unit, which isn't new but is in excellent condition if you would like to buy that as well.
How much do you want for it? Moneys a bit tight at the mo, saving madly for a summer camping in France. Alternatively where did you get the cheap shop soiled cover?
We were going to get a caravan too but a relatives brand new one turned over on the motorway last week and it frightened the life out of me!
Thanks for your reply, we are in Helmshore where are you?
Tent Valeting Services in Bolton, (I spoke to Graham, the son). They usually sell shop soiled ones for about £100.
I rang them this week to see if they knew of anyone who wanted one. They were trying to get a shop soiled one for a customer in Suffolk but couldn't get hold of any. They tell me they were going to charge him £100 + carriage, and he would be more than happy with my new one for £120 so that is what I am asking for it. I haven't contacted him yet.
We are just near Bacup.
We would sell both the cover and underbed storage tent for £150. Full price for both of these would be around £325.
Thanks for the offer Keith but think I'll have to leave it, maybe I'll get one later in the year before the winter. We've been covering it with a large tarpauling under the storage cover this seems to work well. We've just been over the TVS twice over the last couple of weeks, arnt they great they repaired two seperate tears in our canvas very proffesionally and even put the canvas back on the camper for us.
