We had our first weekend away last weekend in our very old second hand chantilly - it was freezing cold and wet, but good fun, and a sharp learning curve! We do have a question re the jacking point though - the campsite was on a two way slope, and it was a nightmare to level the TT. On reading this forum when we returned, we realised we had relied too heavily on the corner steadies, when really the wheels should take the weight, so, yesterday we fitted a jockey wheel (it's so old it didn't have one), but hubby has been looking underneath the chassis, and can't see where it should be jacked in order for us to pack under the wheel if need be, or more importantly, change the wheel if we have a flat. Can anyone offer any info/ advice please?
Leveling ramps are just a bit of wood that you pull the camper wheel on to. You can make them yourself or buy them ready made. if so they are usually made from yellow plastic and made by an italian company called Fiamma, you will need at least two. get them from any good caravan accesory shop. Chocks are a good idea as well, to stop it rolling off the ramp, don't just rely on the brake, again you can make them out of wood or buy the genuine article.
