Hi

Just wondering how much you all pack into your campers for 2 week holiday and if you have any tips for using the space. We're going to france and not sure if I will need to use the roofbox or not.

cheers

sue

We used to put everything in the Pathfinder except a cool box and a large holdall with our clothes in, which went in the estate bit of our car. - We went/go to France for 4 weeks.  Our aqua roll went in the 'bathroom', the awning etc went on the floor.  The extra table and drying rack tucked under the folded down wardrobe.  We took 6 deck type chairs - 3 directors chairs for eating at the table + 2 La Fumas and another sunbathing one, these laid on top of the toilet door with towels between the door an the chairs.  The beds were already made up.  We didn't take a TV - unless you have satellite the reception is zilch.  Child's bed was under the bench as was the electrc equipment - kettle, fryingpan/slowcooker electric extensions.  The awning lighting plus other lanterns were under there too.

Here' s what we pack under one seat locker....

  • Electric hookup cable
  • Fire blanket
  • Awning (canvas only)
  • Table lamp
  • Travel iron
  • Fan
  • Fan heater
  • Awning tie-down kit
  • Toaster

And under the other...

  • Mini safe (bolted thru floor)
  • Awning Poles
  • Box of games for the kids
  • Fishing net
  • Cricket set
  • Badminton set
  • Picnic set/rucksack and picnic blanket
  • 3 x Storage hanging things (for storing sweaters, shoes etc)
  • Water pistols x 3
  • Airer (for hooking over the side of the camper)

In the left hand side kitchen cupboards I have enough dinner plates/side plates/bowls/dessert bowls for the 5 of us. We also have a nesting set of pans, a melamine fruit bowl. We also store our electric jug kettle in here for travelling.

Then in the middle cupboard (we don't have a fridge in our model) we store all our food stuffs. Tins in the bottom, lighter stuff like crisps/biscuits etc in the top.

The right hand cupboard is the cutlery drawer, then underneath I have a pull-out plastic basket with all the odd kitchen stuff in like tin opener, bottle opener, skewers, wooden spoons, serving spoons etc. Also some spare washing up cloths/sponges, tea towels and a bottle of spray dettox. Underneath are 6 china cups, 2 bottles of wine, 2 bottles of squash, tea/coffee/sugar canisters and right at the back over the wheel arch is our dustpan and brush.

Then the cupboard by the door (the one we put our tv on) is full of c**p, lol. TV controls, first aid kit, dog biscuits, poop bags, magazines, reading books, spare batteries, battery charger, moble phone chargers etc.

In the other small cupboard, we store our towels in the top along with washbags and in the bottom we store all our waterproof jackets (small pac-a-mac kind) and our crocs! (5 pairs of )

We have 4 fluffy cream cushions which get stuffed into the kitchen cupboards for travelling (they stop everything from moving about).

In the main body of the camper, for travelling only, we have the aquaroll, wastemaster, table/bench set, 3 clothes boxes (another 2 go in the boot of the car), the steps, swingball set and a duvet. Two other duvets are on the beds already. Pillows packed around.

Combicool fridge goes in the back of the car along with 2 clothes boxes, the tv, microwave and the dog!

The roofbox holds the pushchair, 5 folding chairs and whatever odd bits and bobs we decide we can't do without!

There, I'm all packed. Now....where are we going?

Yep, we get everything in ours too, all the cupboards and lockers are full of plates, cups, lights, first aid kit, extention leads, torch, boules etc then in the camper we fit 2 tables, 2 underbed tents, chairs, bedding, fridge (by the door so I can fill it with food without opening whole camper up) step, ground sheet, awning, awning poles, porta potti, foreman grill, toaster, bbq and lots more that I have forgotten!!

just put clothes in the boot, and some food- phew!

Much easier than when we had a tent tho, spent all day before collecting items from round the house and garage, then all day when we came back putting it away again!

We don`t have a roofbox but manage to pack everything in camper and car boot and we have 3 kids ,you can end up taking too much sometimes ,my girls think a weekend lasts a week owing to the amount of clothes they pack for a weekend break .

Oh...I forgot the mini ironing mat!!! That's also under locker 1 ....beginning to sound a bit of a tardis isn't it? Lol. As from this afternoon (she was up having a good old airing in the 24c sunshine!) she also carries a bug-zapper lantern and the parasol for the table! hehehe.
