Citronella candles and DEET wipes. Kept away mosquitoes in Africa, so they should really UPSET our midges.

Try eating Marmite!! They hate it so won't come near you!!
Also buy some citronella aromatherapy oil, mix a few drops with a carrier oil and rub it on your skin.
These have always worked for me.

40% dettol, 60% baby oil rubbed on pulse points.
Not the most wonderful perfume, but at least it is a 'clean' smell and it does stop them biting.

We used Avon Skin So Soft spray when out in Turkey and it worked fine.
Keep checking Hot UK Deals it was on offer for £1.50 and free delivery.

I use the Avon product, and burn the Citronella candles. What we were also told works is not to shower in a perfumed product - it attracts the little b****rds.------------- Some days are diamonds.......

Hi
We use the avon SSS as well, but we also use the clearlite lamp that has insect repelant mats in them and they work really good, we where in the lake district last half term and there where lots of midgi's, so we lit the lamp under our roll out awning and waited 15 min and then they'd all gone and we got to sit out side, used it last year outside out trailer tent and was really pleased with it, see the link below.
