Hiya all, i have just bought a s/hand fiesta, and would like to ask the following.........has anyone tried, or heard of retro fitting of gas struts to older models, also, when erecting the awning, do you zip it to the main unit before erecting the frame?? or visa versa, many thanks in advance. (OBTW, as we have changed from a c/van to the folding camper, we are still members of the caravan club, and are staying at one of their sites in sept., do the "vanners" on these sites look down their nose at folding campers??)

I don't know of any one who has retro fitted struts to a fiesta. You mean the awning frame? not the cabin? we put the frame up and then zip the awning across. CC sites are fine as as CL's rallies another matter........

Not sure about the struts but I'm sure someone will be along soon to advise.

As for the awning we tend to erect the poles then zip the awning on, but it's and individual thing and you'll soon find which is the easiest way for you.

Congratulations on the new toy by the way.

Have a look at the owners link below, for insurance and subsidised meets with a great bunch of people.

We usually zip the awning on, then push it on to the roof of the unit. Then we erect the awning frame and drag the canvas over it - as Lisa says, it's an individual thing.

Fitted struts to A Dandy Designer, same layout as the Fiesta so the process will not be that different.

Look here for drawings + instructions. (you may need to join the group)
