Hi

Can anyone give me advise on what to do .I proofed my trailer tent with brand new cans of Thompsons ,sprayed on last week. It was left 3 days to dry ,but the whole surface is covered with a STICKY/WAXY  film like dew. This is white & patchy in  a lot of areas ,but clear in some. Any idea what can be done before it picks up lots of dirt and black stains? Dont want to go through the whole process again ! Proofed it before with Thompsons and this did'nt happen then.

Thanks,

Dave

hmm a bit odd, i presume that the canvas was dry and that there's no other greasy marks or anything like that?...

and your spray gun hadn't been used for anything else either?

Hi

The canvas was bone dry & clean. The sprayer I used was brand new and had not been used for anything before.

Water seal was 3 weeks of the shelf at B&Q, and well mixed. Canvas was well wetted,on a dry sunny day. Can't think of any reason for problems at all.

you get that on the windows as it cannot soak in and if you done it before not so long ago same results cannot soak in so sits on top and drys ontop.

It is a well known problem with Thompsons that if you over do it it leaves a waxy film on the tent it shows up more when the mornings have a particularly heavy dew put tends to fade during the day if warm and sunny it will gradually disapear. I would not touch it again, you sometimes get this waxy film even when applied properly sounds to me though that your overproofing your unit
