We have a Conway Challenger (2007) with which I have trouble lifting the beds over. Has anyone added gas struts to a folding camper?  I think this could make all the difference as have tried out on a Pathfinder & could easily lift the beds alone. Any input gratefully received!

Hiya, i enquired at our dealer about "retro" fitting gas struts to our '96 fiesta, and he said it was not possible as they add extra strenghthening when building newer models with gas struts, regards, Tim

We have a Challenger too, do you lift the beds together? I think its a 2 man job really, we have ours off to a tee now, my hubby does some jobs and I do others but the beds we always do together and not too bad with both of you.

Hi peronally i think it could be done with a bit of trial and error , and the right fittings , this firm seems to have the gear to do the job http://www.sgs-engineering.com/gas-struts/fittings/  ,i do think you would have to be confident with your engineering skills though
